Fish or Cut Bait

It's 5;38 a.m. and I have just finished waving goodbye to Cortny and Rich. I'm sitting on the couch looking @ a small little rawhide that is shaped like a bone that just yesterday was strewn about, barked at by Lola (Skully's BFF), and gave her a skip in her step. Even though it is the last day of July and there is still a month or more of summer, for me, it is over, and time to begin making Saint George my home. All around me are boxes and the contents of boxes that need a home somewhere, either here or a thrift store. It is a daunting task fitting a house that was twice the size into my new one. At times I feel overwhelmed. Our casita is now empty. I don't think I will go in there for awhile, I miss my kids. How I envy those of you who are reading this whose children are close by or within a few hours driving distance. It seems, no matter how I try to 'spin' it, for now, it is not possible. My only comfort is that they are all living close to one another and are making precious memories. So....it's time to put away my fishing gear (literally and figuratively) for now. Here's a thought..."If people were flies you fish with I have learned more about which ones to keep in my box, always there, always reliable, and those who belong in someone else's box (I don't think I'm in theirs either). I'm sure they will catch fish for someone......for me, they only catch snags!"

Tam - this hit home as I was away for another week due to work (it has been every other week!). Knowing our Tim is 800 miles away and Steve is working at leaving the nest, I heard you loud and concurred. Although it has been a long time since I have fished (memories with my Uncle Jack) I liked your thought. I'll be contemplating which flies are in my box!
