Rug Riddles

O.k., I have bought three rugs, had one delivered, hauled the other two here via the car and they all have been (or will be) returned. The last one went down last night. I was certain it would work. While I was taking a shower, the 'hub' brought it in from the car, moved the dining room furniture and put it down. When I came out I said "huh uh, it's a no-go". He agreed. I have been carrying around the tile from my family/living room for over a week now (not counting the times the 'hub' has handled it), and I am flabbergasted by number of times I have struck out. I have become a regular fixture/piece of furniture at the store I have been frequenting. They all know me by name, and this is no easy task.....it's a huge store. O.k., maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but they do recognize me when I come in. This would not be such a problem if I could have kept the beautiful shag throw rug that went in my living room in Allentown. It is now in Wichita Falls, Texas making my daughter's little nest comfy, cozy. I had to let it go because Shelba-Belba, Katie's Shetland sheepdog (you all remember her, she barked when you came to the door....incessantly), decided that it felt like grass and did her bizniss on it over the course of the 7 years. Of course, it went undetected for some time. So, anyways.........I cleaned it really really good, however, Skully wasn't fooled, he proceeded to find it a nice indoor facility as well. Seems once a potty always a potty. Arghhhhhhh........! So, today, I have to return yet another rug. I'm getting a bit embarrassed by the whole ordeal. How hard can it be to find a 'stinkin' area rug I ask you. Evidently, for me, I am area rug challenged...among other things. Just before we fell asleep last night I whispered in the 'hubs' ear..."let's sell everything and live in a tent". He said "o.k.., lets". "um mm.....I think I will give it some more time." He didn't say anything....but I could tell that secretly, he was chuckling thinking 'she's a nut'.

how about color or shape? Do you have a picture or maybe accessories? if you could find a rug that had a color or colors/shapes of any accessories you might solve the riddle. it would also provide cohesiveness (sorry a small amount of interior design school can sometimes never die)

I had thought about the shape. The prob. seems to be that the tile has very large multi-veined markings in it and so they just aren't looking good on the floor because it's all tile and very open. Thanks for the suggestions.
